How you can help fighting deforestation and restoring the tree population with little effort.

Deforestation takes an immeasurable extent. Every minute forests in the size of 20 football fields are being cut down and 32% of the world’s forests are already destroyed by this. Deforestation leads to rising temperatures and an increase of the biodiversity loss. As an action against this organisations and people from all around the world are planting trees. Here are three ways how you can participate without having to mess up your white sneakers, without torturing your dying wallet and without challenging your non-existing green thumb that already struggles with keeping cactuses alive.

We are using search engines every day, multiple times, either for checking how to spell the word “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”, finding out how to best open up an avocado without cutting into our hands or figuring out which way to go after getting lost, but being too socially awkward to just ask the people on the streets for the right directions. So why not use this opportunity and turn our incompetence, or to put it in a fancier way “our thirst for knowledge”, into something beneficial for the environment. Ecosia is a browser extension that can help with this mission. By simply adding the extension to your used search engine, Ecosia can now support tree planting projects with their income that is generated through your clicks on search ads.

Are you often struggling with staying concentrated to finish writing your essay, working on this important project, or learning how to play “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on the oboe? Then the Forest app could help you increase your focus and double the positive effect of your productivity by enabling you to plant trees for every time you choose staying concentrated over not using your phone.

In case you are in need of another meaningful and fulfilling step in your morning routine, you want to collect some extra karma points, or you are simply looking for a distraction while waiting in the rain for your bus, you can download the Treeapp. There you have the possibility to plant a tree every day for free simply by answering some questions or watching short advertisements from the respective organisation that will sponsor your tree at this day.
